Welcome to CTVR

I spent the first two decades of my career as an investment banker, hedge fund risk manager, and public company analyst on Wall Street. I have recently been active in the venture capital community, and am an advisor to Exit Ventures, an up-and-coming Climate Tech VC fund founded and managed by Paul Burgon.

Since 2018, I have been writing a column for Forbes about the scientific and business leaders boldly imagining how we should adapt to our new climate reality by mitigating the effects of climate change and restoring our ecosystems to health.

CTVR combines my training in the capital markets with my long-term interest in climate science. I assembled an international team of researchers, writers, and editors to produce thoughtful articles and features about listed companies and new ventures active in agricultural technology (AgTech), grid modernization, and post-carbon industry.

CTVR explores groundbreaking scientific and engineering advances, the people behind them, the impacts they promise, and the attributes that make them attractive investments.

I discovered that merely allocating capital to promising technologies will not save us. We must maintain a sense of reverence for the complexity of natural systems, sacrifice some comfort and convenience for the common good, and face the realities of a post-climate world with determination and resilience.

Join us in exploring the technologies and economic models that will enable us to confront the greatest challenge to civilization.

Warm regards,
