CTVR Publications

Much fluff is written about sustainable this and renewable that; we offer clear thinking and plain language about climate tech ventures and the visionaries behind them.

Patronage

We have four patronage levels for entrepreneurs, investment firms, and corporations. Patrons enjoy annual access to all our content, monthly video conference calls with Erik and varying numbers of subscriptions and levels of bespoke research and consulting time at each patronage level. You can sign up for the Bronze patronage level through Substack; please contact Erik directly to register for higher patronage levels.

Paid subscribers and CTVR Patrons allow our team at CTVR to find and feature the most interesting Climate Tech ventures. Thank you.

Who is behind CTVR?

Founder Erik Kobayashi-Solomon has lived in the Chicago suburbs since he was hired to lead Morningstar’s semiconductor equity research team in 2006. Before that, he worked for Morgan Stanley in Tokyo and New York and for several New Jersey-based hedge funds.

Writer Virginia Mugo lives in Nairobi, where she runs her own Swahili interpretation and transcription business.

Writer Martha Martins lives in Abuja, where she worked in social media strategy for Voice of Nigeria.

David Corzo Sánchez lives in Mexico City, and is helping with special analytical projects while he is finishing up his degree in Financial Management and Data Science.

Editor Jon Kostiner lives in Honolulu, where he works in Japanese art restoration; before that, he worked in technical support and documentation for Oracle, Netscape and Novell.

Others will be joining us over the coming months, and we will let you know when they do. If you are a writer or researcher with a background in journalism or an interest in our areas of coverage, feel free to pitch Erik directly.

Conflicts of Interest

CTVR team members may write about companies in which we hold a financial interest. We will disclose any ownership interest (or short interest) in our articles and will not invest in a company within five days of publishing about that company.
